What to look for in a digital photo frame

9 years 7 months ago #404748 by Dan Spade
I have a client who wants each of her bridesmaids to get one with their main photo uploaded into it during the reception.  She wants the frames to be 12-15" big.  I have never bought one of these and don't know squat about them.

Can someone help me, with what to look for in these frames?

What the heck is a "main photo"? Of the bridesmaids? Or of the bride? An image from the ceremony being given to the attendants as a lovely parting gift? Why does it have to be at the reception? How will you know what the "main photo" is?

And why on earth would the attendants even want a photo of the bride and groom in a digital frame? Talk about arrogant...

If indeed that is what we're discussing here.

Since most of these devices, are not high-res, the files don't have to be large. Thus, a 2GB device can hold a very large number of images. So you don't really need to worry about a huge amount of storage on the thing. What you want is one that let's you decide if and when it turns itself off. I bought one for my wife, but it turns off after 4 hours. NO way to change that, and now it never gets turned on. Buy a unit that stays on all the time.

My wife just bought this one and surprising it's sharp and straight forward to set up.  You didn't mention budget so not sure if this one falls into what you are looking to spend.

Actually a very nice gift idea as they can change out the photos with their own at anytime. Looks like prices run from $49.00 to $300.

The overstock link above has some great options!
