Will you use a flash for portraits, even in daylight?

More out of a curiosity as I have been taking photos with my flash during daylight and it seems to be working pretty good this way.

Fill flash is absolutely appropriate, and sometimes required (not just useful).

What I dislike are the harsh shadows created by flash. I don't mind broad light, but it's easy to overdo.

If I need it, I'll use one.

Almost always with the flash set to -1.3 or -1.7.

If I need it, yes.  Or if I'm after a certain results.

:agree:     I'm pretty much the same way.  Harsh shadows don't look all too convincing to me.
