Using Google streetview to scout shooting locations

9 years 3 weeks ago #434806 by Tristan R
Any of you using Google streetview to scout new shooting locations?  I have been using it lately and it's not only fun, but saves time in the field driving around.  If you really want to burn some time you can save on travel cost and 'drive' through city streets in other countries.

Fun tip, hope it helps you too

I've been using Google maps for years.  As added bonus you can play PacMan on Google maps right now too :beerbang:

Walk the streets of Paris from your squeaky office chair?  Did it last week!

I too have been using google maps for quite a long time. Scouting hikes, shooting sites and together with  photoephemeris.com/  , makes planning pretty easy.....;)

Why so serious?

Completely!  It's the quickest way to travel from the streets of Moscow, to NYC, to Paris.  Or any other city you can think of.  I do use it for local stuff though, but its more fun to 'walk' around other cities I have always wanted to go too.

Remember that sometimes the maps and street view can be quite out of date but generally pretty accurate. One of my friends may be the only person seen on street view holding a porcupine. The rehabbed little guy has been released now.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.
