Why can't you take photos when the airplane is landing?

I've done some traveling lately and one question that always gets me:  Why can't you take photos from your window looking out during landing?

I haven't had anyone stop or question me.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Electronic devices are supposed to be completely turned off, but I'm not sure that a DSLR counts. I've had my camera out during takeoff and landing without complaint.

Just don't use a stupid mobile phone.

Unless a flight representative or air marshal said something, you have nothing to worry about.  I have many times with no questions asked.

Me, too...  Given all that has been written here, I'd say you were misinformed or there was a unique situation.

Agree, I've been only asked to shut of my phone and tablet, never my camera.
