B&H or Adorama or Beach Camera

4 years 3 months ago #464837 by Richard K Photography
I've been a die hard Adorama and B&H customer for some time.  Then I came across this website called resellerratings.com and noticed that B&H has a rating of 6.38/ 10, Adorama has a 8.99/10 and then Beach Camera has rating of 8.66/10.

So Adorama is leading the pack here.  I'm surprised with B&H and how much lower it is than even Beach Camera.

Is B&H not taking care of their clients?

B&H has always done well with me. I've had a couple issues with Adorama and they always made it right. No experience with Beach, and no desire to go elsewhere. I also use Amazon at times. When the two NYC stores didn't have a D700 a few years back, Amazon had it at a lower cost, and I had it in two days in perfect condition. The others take forever if you click free shipping....

Why so serious?

These next numbers are impacted by sales volume?

:agree: that sums it up, B&H does a much greater volume of business, opening their doors to more potential complaints.

Interesting, I've seen the ads for Beach Camera, didn't know much about them.

Odd. I have had more issues on fewer orders with Adorama. B&H is my go to. The one issue I had was resolved very quickly.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

If best price is all that matter to you, shop at NONE of those mentioned....

B&H is the best IMO, I don't read much into some of these reviews.  You can't make everyone happy.

Resellerratings has  been in and out of business and bought and sold a number of times. I think the current site has just been in business a couple of years or so.

And it shows 'lifetime' ratings? whose lifetime are we talking? lol

I think companies pay whoever owns the site if they want to be listed as Merchant Members. Notice that Adorama and Beach are, and B&H isn't, and who gets the better ratings shown on their page?? hmmm

And it's taking me some looking to figure out who owns the site, it's Answers.com. I always wonder what's up when they make it hard to track 'em down.

I think if someone gives a one or two star rating, it brings the average down, and probably happy customers don't bother to post as much. Some are probably legit complaints and others are just people griping. You might do just as well asking on a forum like this rather than sites like that one.
