Client asked me if I would work for free in exchange for a "Killer Yelp review"??

Are people on crack these days?  I had a client yesterday that tried to offer me a great review, or "Killer Yelp review" to use their exact words in exchange for a 4 hour engagement photo session.

He claimed he had spoken to 2 other photographers that were willing to do this, however I was his top pick.  And if I complied to these terms, apples to apples, he would give the opportunity to me.

Seriously, are photographers doing this?

Of course some might, but it was quite easy to say no, wasn't it?....

Why so serious?

It's to bad as professionals we can't leave reviews with out coming across as defending ourselves.

The client might find someone with a camera to do it, not a photographer. Ask the 'client' if he works his job for free - does the grocery store accept Yelp reviews in exchange for groceries?? lol (I don't really say something that comes to mind like that!)

Apparently there are people that shop around, who knows if he really has other photographers who said they'd do this; if he does he can use one of them. Who he probably found on craigslist and who have qualifications like having figured out how to take the camera out of the box.

Got to give 'em credit, that looks balls to ask such an idiotic question IMO

I can't help laugh at this, I would tell that person to drag their butt so quick.  Go hire one of those freebie photographers if the person does exist.

How rude to presume you would work for a novelty Yelp review :owned:

The fact that they even had the audacity to ask you this speaks volumes about their character. Not a client I would want to have.
