Under what conditions do you let someone use your camera?

8 years 4 days ago #480210 by icepics
Maybe immediate family, but since they wouldn't know one end of a camera from the other I don't expect they'll ever ask! so easy to say I would. lol

If you're doing work in photography it seems like this would be loaning out equipment you need for your job. Maybe that's a way to approach it. If people ask you could give them an idea where to rent equipment or buy a p&s if they want to do more than use their phone.

I've learned the hard way.  Now just keep it simple and not let anyone use my camera.

Borrow to take away from under my eyes? No.

Borrow to take some shots while I am next to them? Fine.

I'm with Finn on this one.

Accidents happen and it's just a camera.  As the owner of this gear, we always seem to have a closer relationship than anyone that might borrow it.  So in short, no.  I keep it simple and don't lend my stuff out.

I've only let one person use my camera, and that was my brother.  Even still, I was a little reluctant.  It's only a camera, I get it.  However it's about the controls and messing them up.  I'm sure you know what I mean.

I've let my grown children use my gear under my supervision. Was still a mistake. Don't do it!

The only person that has used my gear, is my wife.  And that was only once.

When my husbands asks if he can take a shot he likes.  Only because Ican buy anything I want for my camera and he makes no fuss.
