Placing an ad in Craigslist for corporate photography gigs

7 years 6 days ago #523966 by Jakov Barnes
I've just renewed a listing I have running in Craigslist for corporate photography gigs and head shots.  Do you all find you get a ton of tire kickers who try to fetch your pricing, or others that just want to pay you peanuts?

It would be helpful to know how others are making out with their Craigslist efforts.

Let me know your thoughts.  Thanks

Well that is what you will mostly get on CL for anything you post there. I call it Cancerlist anymore. Every time I post something for sale on there, I get flooded with SPAM, scams, and low ballers. It is all just a part of the game. I think that I get maybe 1% of legitimate people wanting what I posted.

Agree, Craigslist has gone into the toilet and isn't good for much of anything these days IMO.

Did you try Gigmasters?

IMO the people on Craigslist will be those looking for cheap service providers.

I would set up a dummy email address if you are going to use Craigslist.  Just my 2 cents.

Nikon Z6 | Nikon FM10 | Nikon D80 | Nikon 50mm f/1.8D | Nikon 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S VR | 35-105mm f/3.5 Macro | 80-200mm f/4.5 | SB600 | Pocket Wizard II

I hate Craigslist with passion, last 2 times I used it.  All I got were a ton of scam text messages about paying $50 more on what I was selling and shipping carrier will come by and pick up my item I was selling.

I'd avoid Craigslist like the plague unless the management cleans it up.

I avoid CL as much as I can for all the already mentioned reasons.

I'll add this, I'd use FleaBay and the scammer preferred paypal again long before CL. Nothing but trouble....

Why so serious?
