Candid shots

Well that's a first.  I had a call that just came in from someone who wants me to photograph their wedding.  They then proceed to as for a discount, that all I need to do is take "Candid shots" of their ceremony, guest and venue.

I told him, a good photographer is talking most of their shots as candid ones to begin with.

"OH, well can I still get a discount?"

LOL

I told her, I don't give discounts.  Then she hung up on me.

You should have recommended Craigs list. On another note, I turned down a wedding a while back that took place last weekend because I "over priced" it. The two photographers they hired did almost all their shooting sitting at a table, and in the second row at the ceremony. They used the on camera pop-up flashes, shot in full auto and got a little riled when I offered a suggestion. I asked how they handled the red eye and they looked puzzled....
Me thinks, you often get what you pay for....

Why so serious?

Sounds like a client that you didn't want to have anyways!   I sure wouldn't want them.

I don't give discounts and would have had no problem letting them know that.

Sounds like a headache client that I would just pass on.  If they are trying to be cheap now, they will surely be a pain.

LOL! Probably best off that the conversation ended there, sounds like a customer you'd never see eye to eye with

Clients like this, you don't need.  Satisfy them today only means you have to deal with that attitude somewhere further down the line.
