Is AF-S more accurate than AF-C when things are not moving?

When your subject isn't moving, does it make a difference if you use AF-S or AF-C or is AF-S considered more accurate?   I seem to recall either I read it or heard that somewhere.  Just bouncing that off here first.

Let me know please.  Thansk.

In both cases, focus acquisition will take the same time;
AF-C will continue monitoring the moving subject.

No gain or loss in accuracy, I use AF-C all the time! :P

Generally speaking, no. Some systems act a little differently, causing them to perform better in one or the other.

That's true in my experience with my Nikons.  Although AF-S makes it easier to focus and recompose.

G'day Steve

It's very much 'horses for courses' ... my default is AF-s as so much of my stuff is where I focus on the primary subject then move the camera sideways a bit to compose the image - often placing the subject "on the thirds". If I was using AF-c then I would lose than focus point

However when I am shooting action / BIF or similar, I go to AF-c all the time as my camera is following the subject while fitting the subject -generally- into the centre of the frame

Hope this helps
