How to print big when you are on a budget?

When you have wall space that is asking for a print upwards of 30x24" +, what options are there to getting larger prints economically?  Seems many popular print houses will charge north of $450.  I don't suppose there are some decent, price friendly options?

For just a print? Where?

I just check Bay Photo ( bayphoto.com/prints/photographic-prints/ ) and their prices for a 30x40 print are quite reasonable.

Now, if you mean printed and framed, that's a different story. Framing is expensive. That size at Aaron Brothers might run you $200 for a custom frame; you might be able to find a stock frame in that size.

Now keep in mind, print big and budget don't go well together for a reason, to print on big and have the high level of quality comes with a price.

With that in mind, you can go to CostCo, Office Depot or Wallmart and get a decent print 20x30" for under $15.  Get a frame from Ikea for $18 and you are set.

Something else to consider is you can go with a triptych print, and go with a pano stitched into a large photo, that is made up from 3 20x30" prints.

I was going to say the same about triptych prints.  Good way to cut down physical size of a single print, cost and yet increase the perceived size on the wall.

The problem is, when you go cheap, the quality can go south really fast.   Just keep that in mind.
