Where are you finding assistants?

Big job coming up in September.  I'll need to get some help for this one.  Where are you finding responsible and experienced assistants?

I believe in the idea that If one is paid correctly, the work
will be done right — given you don't hire an idiot!

Personally, I hired a young guy recently for a corporate job.
We spend some hours to learn how to manipulate the gear,
what cases contain, what is expected from him that day, etc.

Where did you hire him from?

A schoolmate of my younger son — who does the job very
well thank you! — but couldn't because he had some school
end of the year bookings he had to attend to.

That fellow, from another class, used to train with my son. I
saw a sharp, fast, and strong guy and I was sure of his moto-
tic precise skills. I did not regret it a minute.

You could always post a wanted listed on Craigslist.  But filter them out good.  I would meet with them way ahead of time and see how well they listen to instructions and how much they know.

I would post a "Want Ad" message on my local Photography Meet Up group to hopefully find a photographer "Newbie" who would be interested in helping me. This would be a great chance to give them some good experience and get the help that you need at the same time. An interview and training session ahead of time would, of course, be necessary. You will both need it.

You might want to check local meet up groups for photography as well.  Just saying, there are always some that want to make a little extra $$.

Yep, check with your MeetUp group organizer, often they send out newsletters to members.  See about announcing your need for assistant there.
