Are newer cameras made from the same materials as they were a couple decades ago?

Yes… but not really!!!

SMD technologies are on constant evolution and that includes sensors,
buffers, batteries, etc. New materials are finding their places everywhere.

Not so by materials in mechanical enclosures, here things are not moving
so fast.

How so guys?  Camera bodies are still made from magnesium for the most part.  Lenses maybe, as they use a lot more plastics these days.

Magnesium? for the flagships maybe but not for the
mid or low range of bodies.

Lens is about the same; pros will contain Mg + Al in
different ratios but lower end with have more plastic.
