Photographing wedding rings

I'm helping a friend out, when photographing wedding rings are you photographing them off their hands or still on their hands?

Unless you only have 10 seconds to photograph the rings, you can do both....

I photograph the rings pre-ceremony:
 - in the grooms hands
 - in the ring box
 - amongst the bouquet
 - in a setting of other wedding details (invites, perfumes, jewellery, heirlooms etc,.)

Then after ceremony:
 - on the couples hands (lots of different photos you can do here)
 - rings removed for closeup, with couple in background
 - rings with something that represents the location (in the sand if beach location for example)

Wedding rings are one of the most important elements of the day. Don't limit the couples choices to just one photo of the rings.

YES, this is the culminating 10 seconds of the whole
day, you can't do much then, so leave them the time.

Light is free… capturing it is not!
