Cleaning sand from camera and lens body?

3 years 9 months ago #689217 by Overread
Without getting into the boring story of what happened, just know my camera took a fall into sand today.  How would you go about getting all the sand out of this?  I have brushed it off, and when I turn the focus on the lens, I can feel sand crunk.  Not good.

Thoughts on this one?

Thanks PT.

Nightmare!

Very fine dust is quite abrasive on the long run.
I would go for a good technician.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

At first I was going to say a brush, but then re read your post.  I would have the camera and lens sent in for professional cleaning.

Dang, sorry to hear about this.  Well there is not way to sugar coating this and I think you know it.  This needs professional help.  That sand will be a nightmare of left in there.  Good luck pal.

That sucks.  Sorry, but calling it as it is.  Sand is a nightmare to clean out of anything, let alone a camera!
