Real Estate photographers, are you using anything wider than 24mm?

Just as the title is asking, are you using anything wider than 24mm for your real estate work?

If so, what?

I am not a real estate photographer, but I do quite a lot of interiors for film locations.
They do not expect photos shot wider than with a 28mm lens.
I know some do, but the directors go crazy when the get on location and it looks a lot smaller in real life. I have given photography courses to estate agents (taking their own shots) over the years and I always advise not wider than 28mm. That said, 24mm is pushing the limit, but not off the radar.
But the people you take the photos for, are the buyers. They want a photo close to real.
If very wide shots upset directors for not being real anymore, I am sure clients might be upset too.

Thank you.  That's that I thought.  My brother in law is getting into the field and was asking what gear to get.  I figured a good 24-70mm and perhaps 85mm will be good for most of the stuff he would be doing.  I know myself, I hate when you see a shot that is super wide, only to get there and the 'large' room is a closet.

Hey Pete,

focal length is just another way to spell tool and the later is
never better than the craftsman using it.

These were done for a castle owner who wanted to promote
the new decor for the popular weddings services he offered
for many years, taken with a 14 ƒ2,8.

The closet example is one that I don't dig much either but it
is often seen. These two, on tripod, were taken with as close
as possible to perfect precision in regard to all three a axises.

I know a couple real estate photographers and not by their choice, but their widest used is 14mm.  You might be told from the client on how wide they want.

WOW, those are some shots I would love to have taken!  Much more interesting than the homes I'm sure my brother in law will be shooting.   Was this a castle in Europe somewhere?

I think you'll find most use the 24-70mm as their go to lens.  Exterior you'll want the 70-200mm
