Single card slot or dual card slots?

Are using both card slots if your camera offers them or just one slot?  If your camera has just a single slot, is that something are looking for in your next camera?

I just got off our monthly zoom photography meetup and it happened to be one of the topics that came up.

Personally I'm impartial.  If it has dual slots, cool.  Would that be something I'd be willing to pay extra for, nope.

What about you?

In the film time, there was only one roll in the body
but film was more reliable than digital cards then.

I had no card that went bad on me in the last twelve
years, but I fell a lot better going to a shoot having 2
cards on board… be it SD, CF, or XQD.

Many new products that hit the market in the recent
times were criticised for having only one card, the D6
has room for two and that's good.

A second card is a great work insurance anytime.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

I have dual slots, but only use one.  No need for 2 for me.

I'll back up things directly after each shoot.  But during the shoot, I'm only using one card.
