Disinfecting camera gear with an ozone generator

Morning.  Would you happen to know if I could use an ozone generator to disinfect my camera gear?  Or would that potentially harm the electronics of the camera?

Just wash your hands before handling you camera.  Those machines can be pretty tough.

Although Ozone is a great sanitizing agent, it is also an oxygen bleach of sort. It may react with the plastics and electronics of your camera in a very negative way. I would not do this. A wipe with a milder sanitizing agent on a cloth would effectively disinfect the touched parts and be much safer to use on your camera and lenses.

An ozone generator is a device designed to produce the gas
ozone (O3  ). Ozone is used effectively in water purification,
ozone in air must reach high levels to remove air pollutants.

Health experts warn that it is important to control conditions
to ensure that no person or pet becomes exposed to high le-
vels of ozone.

I wouldn't use it as you suggest, too many unknowns.
