How to Recover clipped audio?

3 years 6 months ago #699421 by Matt Nguyen
During a video I was shooting today, there were a few parts where someone was screaming loud.   Is there any way to clear these points?  Just to get them so  they don't sound like blown out?

Let me know please.  Thank you!

An Audio Editing Program can easily handle that. I use Cool Edit Pro. There are many audio formats and things to learn, but Cool Edit Pro makes it fairly easy to learn and use. You can cut and heal sound tracks (which is what you will need to do) quite easily with it. It's kind-of like cutting and splicing old movie film, but you do it all in the computer. A good video editor should let you do the same with both the video file and audio file at the same time, so nothing gets out of sync. Same technique, but you work with both files at the same time.

You can do this by adding your video in an editor, then cut out the part of the audio that bothers you, and instead of this duplicate the audio from the part of the video where you like it. By the way, if you have problems with the format of the video, or it was recorded on an old camera with a format like AVI you can just use https://www.videoconverter.com/ - it is an online video converter.
