Join PPA (Professional Photographers of America) www.ppa.com and your camera gear is insured for $5,000 at no additional charge. There are many other benefits too.

Homeowners insurance may cover your gear up to a limit IF AND ONLY IF you do not. Sell your promos. Then it becomes business Equipment. The great wildlife photographer, Ken Conger ( www.kencongerphotography.com ) did everything he could think of to insure his equipment but found out the he had missed something while a canoe tipped and he lost about $8000 worth of equipment into the piranha and caiman Filled waters of SA. He found he needed some  Inland Waterways, or something) insurance. Check with PPA on the subject. It is complicated.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.
