Removing spray paint over spray from camera body!

2 years 7 months ago #724674 by Eli Clark
My brother was spray painting some outdoor furniture and managed to get over spray on my camera body and it dried.

Any idea how I can get this off without destroying my camera body?

Thank you for your help!!!

It's first necessary to know what kind of paint. Then, what your camera body is made from. Generalized statements about both don't get the answer that you seek.

Why remove it? Possibly the best anti-theft strategy you could get.
You should thank your mother… again!

G'day Eli

If it is water-based house paint - then Metholated Spirits will do it
If it is linseed-oil based paint -- then Mineral Turps will be needed

=or= you could use the world's best 'natural' cleaning solution ...... Eucalyptus oil. Used around the world quite safely to clean 1001 items, remove sticky labels etc. etc.

Whichever way it is, take good care and take your time
ps- neither of the above should damage camera cases from recognised makers

Hope this helps

Whatever you decide to use, other than water, be sure to test it on a small, less conspicuous spot before wiping down the camera with it.
