Do you know of anyone who is color blind? and are they into photography? I wonder how they can take a good picture, not knowing the correct colors.

My dad is color blind, but he's not into photography. Thankfully, I did not get that trait.
I think a good way to work around it is to maybe just focus more texture, shading, and depth rather than color.

Thanks, but it's ok. You kinda get used to it. It's part of life.

Well cameras were color blind for decades! Seems like a color blind person might be well suited to b&w.

I've known some people that are colorblind, and to varying degrees. Usually it's limited to a color or two, so I don't think it would hinder a photographer much, if anything at all.

:agree: Some might need a bit of assistance in color correction of an image but usually not.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

 You beat me to it.
Im far from color blind but, I had a roomie who was. He would always ask me to clothes shop with him so he wouldnt get shirts that didnt match pants. Fortunately for him I liked him so I didnt mismatch them as a joke.

I recall someone I knew telling me he found out he was color blind when he discovered the A and B buttons on the 8 bit NES controller were actually two different colors.

You may have hit on something there. I have a cousin who is color blind - literally cannot tell green from red - and I've never known him to pick up a camera.

On the other hand, if you are shooting with black and white film, do you really need to know your colors?
