Have you ever let a friend borrow a lens?
If you had a lens, that they didn't have to shoot an event they were hired for, would you let them borrow the lens?

No and I probably won't either. The only one borrowing my lenses is my husband.

Would the "friend" replace your lens if it was lost or damaged? If so rent it to them...

Nope, it's not. Not when I paid god knows how much for my equipment. If they need a lens, they can rent or buy a lens.

If you lent someone say, a $500 lens and it was damaged. Would they pay for the repairs. If it was destroyed, lost or stolen, would they replace it?
Just as any other valuable property you own: your car, your lawn mower, your wife (never mind that one), whatever.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

I have a couple friends I would loan anything, including a $2,000 lens, because they are my GOOD friends, and I know they would take care of my stuff as if it were theirs.....B)

Why so serious?

Nope. I have only ever allowed friends to use my lenses when in my presence. Otherwise they are SOL and the same goes for family.

I'm going to have to agree with Joves on this one. :agree:

I share nikon Stuff with my best friend simply because he will care for it as I do and would replace it if anything happened to it

That is the only way I would share, but I do not have any friends. :(
