Painting a picture of a Photo

Have you ever painted or even drawn a picture of a photo you took? I just tried to draw one and it didn't come out all that good.

I have done it plenty of times. The 'artistic process" means it rarely looks like the original but that's OK. I did have one that looked like the original and that surprised me a bit.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

I have a friend who used to paint oils from photos. They were very good. I have one.

I remember when I was in grade school, the art teacher had a draw from a photo. My drawing was ok. I haven't done it since.

That is really good. Wow. I've never seen a painting from a photo before. I just usually see the painting or the photo. lol

Thanks for the compliment. Some people have talents for drawing and painting and other for, say, music. My son is a wonderful musician but I have trouble with the radio.

I did a while back. Was spur of the moment, and a first and a last, but was a lot of fun.

And because I think it's funny... I'll let you know... this is a finger painting on poster board. LOL And I ran out of paint about 2/3 through.

Beautiful painting. The photo itself didn't show up. Nothing wrong with finger painting.
