camera shake

Sometimes holding the camera and lens up to shoot a subject gets tiring after awhile. I don't have a tripod, because I don't really have big lenses. Without having a tripod, what can I do to keep my camera steady?

You could lean up against a tree.

hold your breath when you take the shot. Hold in your arms towards your chest. kneel down. If you don't want to buy a tripod, buy a monopod.

Does the lens have vibration reduction? If so make sure that is on

Consider buying a monopod. They work well in supporting the camera.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

breath out slowly when you press the shuter, just like shooting a gun. You can tuck your arms in close to yore body and brace your ellbows on your chest if you cant neil.

A tri pod and a mono pods are both great buys even if you don't use a long lens. You can use them in land scape and every other type of photography.

Crystal and Cjarvis gave you a good tip. Also increase your shutter speed if you can. The breathing thing really does work .

I bought a "flex-leg" tripod (like a Gorilla Pod) for about $20. I would leave my camera unattended on it but it works well as a steadying device.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

All good replies have been given to you. The monopod has the benefit of being a good walking stick as well. I use my monopod 3 times more than my tripods.

:agree: I have gotten in that mode. My old, heavy Manfrotto can also serve as a weapon should the need arise. :nunu:
