So, do you often live close to the shots you take such as flowers, houses, mountains, anything!
Anything you take pictures of (besides people) is it normally close to you?

Yes, I would say 75% of my photos are taken within an hour drive.

I would say 100% of my photos are taken very close to where I am...

Okay, okay.. seriously - Except for photos made while on vacation or extended trips, almost all are within 30-45 minutes from home.
(disclaimer - I've had at least 8 homes in 4 different States in the past 10 years)

I have been lucky, wherever I have lived there has always been beautiful places around me, the only thing is I prefer taking photos of people and sometimes they are not so beautiful.

Hiding from ex-wives and the law.. J/K - mainly 'cause I've always been kind of a wandering spirit... still looking for that special place I want to be the rest of my life.. I've lived in 7 States and 3 countries.. I've narrowed my search down to "it has to be on a large body of water"..

95 % of what I take is within 5 minutes of my home. My clients come to me most often, and I have an awesome yard. I also have young children and it's a battle to go anywhere, so I just don't. LOL But that said... I tend to like that other 5% because it looks different to me and reminds me of other places. So a lot of the ones I've shared on here are from that 5%.

That's one of the many reasons I will never have children. I like to travel, explore, take photos of where ever I go. It's hard to do those things with kids.

With the year split pretty evenly between central Virginia (2 hrs to the ocean, less than 2 to the mountains) and the other half in Nova Scotia on the Bay of Fundy, it not hard to find subjects.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

You're young yet... never say never. (I'm superstitious about that) LOL But that said... I'm sure it's not your only reason, and I respect them all.

I miss a lot of photo ops and travel ops because of my little brood and cloud of chaos, but personally it's well worth the trade offs. Photos ops stay closer to home but that cloud of chaos makes for some fun pictures! LOL They are the biggest constantly changing adventure I've ever had... just all in small packages and in one place. I've been to the other side of the earth, and it paled in comparison to where I've already been in life right here. I'm just on a travel break for now... not forever. It will get easier, and then my kids can enjoy it with me.

I'm 29, I know I can still have children, but neither my husband nor I want kids. My parents, my inlaws have been saying it for years....you're young yet, wait till you get older, you'll want kids. I said, no kids when I was 16, 18, 21, 25, etc... and up until about 2yrs ago, the parents have been saying...you are still young, some day it will happen. And now, if I tell them I have something to tell them.,. the parents will say, you're preg. lol Nope.

I know those who have kids, love their children and their children are the world to them. It's just not what I want. I have a whole list of reasons. :)

Most of what I shoot is within an hour from home( hockey ) and the rest are from our travels, but there are some scenics that are near home that are some of my favorite places to shoot
