Trying to get the angle

13 years 4 weeks ago #45987 by Moossmann
Earlier I was trying to photograph a snail moving across the ground and was trying to get the camera right on the ground view, but it was very difficult to look though the view finder that low. I was wondering what options or tricks are there for this sort of photography?

Live view in your cam, or remote it from a laptop.

Live view, a right angle viewfinder like the Hoodman, or shoot a slower shutter speed (just kidding).

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Get the snail onto a board then place the board on a table out under the pool umbrella next to the beer cooler. Invite some friends over and bet on when the snail will cross the board. Get a second board, wash, rinse, repeat...

:agree: everything but the slow shutter speed. Also, you could get all the way down on the ground to shoot the snail. I have down it plenty of times to get macro shots.

Well I have laid on my left side and used my left eye with the camera on the ground. Laying on you belly is just a part of the experience, now that Im older though my neck doesnt bend like it used to. And getting up is slower at times. :P
