Infrared conversion worth the cost or software substitute?
A cheap, DIY IR filter is to have a roll of unexposed, 120 size E6 (transparency) film developed. You get back a wide, dark roll of plastic that can be layered to provide varying degrees of visible light block. I've never used it on the lens, but I use a double layer as a visible light blocking filter on my flashes when I'm shooting my IR converted 20D (which I don't use anywhere near as often as I thought I would
). I had the 20D converted by lifepixel.com
