Mid grey is the new Black !!!!!! they say with a mid grey back ground, a few coloured gels and different lighting techniques you can achieve lots of different coloured back grounds with the one background, even white and black.
check out Prophotonut, just google it, the guys called Damien Lovegrove, the site is free, and he gives away a multitude of photography tips, the technique i have just described is on there.
let me know what you think as this guy is one of my favourite photographers.

I've taken the cheap route for my back drops, rather than paying $90 per back drop, I have a black sheet and a white one that I will use.

I use a green screen. I can make my background whatever I want.

Don't make them wear alien green, they won't have alien green eyes, and you can always blue screen it.

What if they're wearing black, or have black eyes?

I was in fact being serious, I know you can blue screen as well, but the question still stands, what if anything about your subject is the same colour as your green or blue screen, is there a problem ???

If the green/blue is too close to the screen then yes.

Also if the green light at the back reflects onto the shoulders of the subject (say a white shirt) then you'll get problems.
