cd's with copyright

I'm just starting up a home studio and was wondering how to get a copyright on a cd so that the customer can't print the pictures off from their home or anywhere else. My sister was telling me about a studio she had her daughter's senior pics taken where the photographer gave her a cd with a copyright on it and she had to order within 10 days or the pics were deleted. She did place her order, but checked the cd a few days later and the pics really were gone. Does anyone know how to do any of this? I would love to be able to put a copyright on the cd and have the pics magically disappear after a certain amount of time.

Very interesting. The CD probably has some sort of exe script running on it. So after an X amount of time, it will appear that there are no photos.

I've heard of people imbedding photos in a flash script that have an expiration. Found more info on how to "disable" the expiration than how to add it. Usually involved an autorun on the CD that the hacker deleted or bypasses. Some suggested screen prints to get the photos.

Watermarks and very small jpegs are probably better choices.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

:agree:

You are just better off making them to print of any size. I know if you use Adobe Acrobat you make make the file unprintable. But that is for the paid version of it. But generally making them low quality and small deters most people.
