Im going to buy this book but came accross two versions, one in 1990 and one in 2004. I assume the 2004 edition is the one I want?

The fundamental concepts remain the same: shutter, aperture, ISO, how the meter works, etc.... But I assume the 2004 book would cover digital cameras ,histogram, etc..., while there's no way the 1990 version will.

I cover what he covers in the first week of my course... in simpler language and in more depth. Then there is 7 more weeks of knowledge that come after. Things you also need to know to shoot professionally. There is a lot more to this than "understanding" f/stops, shutter speeds and ISO.

As a member of MANY photo forums, there are always many questions of, "What is he saying here"? I don't think he explains the basics very well. Some say they had to read it 3 or 4 times to "get it".

In fact he terms "creative exposure" as using the same EV. It's the SAME exposure. A truly "creative" exposure is when you use something other than the zero point on the meter to get the look YOU want.
