Hiring photographer for anniversary coming up

12 years 11 months ago #82291 by Cliff
So my wifes and my anniversary is coming up. We are having a large party and would like to have a good photographer covering the event. Being a photographer and hiring another one, do you feel you try to be somewhat controlling on how or what they are doing? I have never hired another photographer before, or at least during the time I have been playing around with cameras. Will see how it goes.

I would chose one whose work you respect, and let him (or her) do his/her thing.

Only concern yourselves with having a good time.

And congrats!

I agree with Mathew, let the photographer do his/her thing and you and your wife enjoy your day! When my daughter got married, I hired a photographer who I knew very well and I still watched every move! Congratulations - enjoy that day!!

See everyone... Johnnie's lying again. Tol' ya. He's a consistent liar.

Really, Johnnie, you don't have to lie. It gets hard to remember them all and you'll soon get caught.

1. I do not lie or tell an untruth - so please do say such a thing - I do take offense to it.

With that said, the photographer I hired was excellent, I just wanted to make sure that all of the photo's where taken that should have been.

Hope you noticed my "wink" at the end. You KNOW I'm not serious. I would never wish to offend you.

I wouldn't hire one I didn't trust, and all the ones I trust would be annoyed with me if I told them how to do their job.

It is hard though for a photographer to try and stop themselves getting involved, When my wife and I renewed our vows it was my wife that chose the photographer and I couldnt stop myself looking at the equipment and watching there every move, I even pulled her photos to pieces when the proofs arrived, guess we cant help ourselves.
Cliff pick a photographer whos style you like and try to keep your eyes on your wife at all times, congrats on the anniversary.
I only managed 4 anniversaries after our renewal, what a waste of £1800

You beat me to this punch line, I was going to say the same thing. I would just have to hire and totally avoid the photographer as I would be looking over their shoulders all night
