Just made my homemade lasagna today. While I was preparing it, the boys were comparing the calorie count on their gatorades, so it got me wondering about the lasagna.

4 lbs of ground beef: 3923 calories
2 cans of pasta sauce: 762
2 bags of TexMex shredded cheese: 274
lasagna noodles: 1882
parmesan cheese (approx. 50 tblsp): 1750
Total: 8591 calories (all figures rounded)

Cut into 12 pieces, that's 716 calories each

Cost: $33.13 or $2.76 / piece

I had two pieces so I guess that's why I'm ready for bed...

Certainly not me ... my weight only fluctuates by 10-20 lbs and I'm not a health nut so I eat anything I want. I'm Garfield when it comes to lasagna ... wish I could make it more often.

Breathing a sigh of relief. Almost all of Southern Ontario was or still is under a tornado watch, warning, or red alert. We became red alert status at 7:16pm which means take cover now! Thankfully, the worst just grazed us. All the watches for our area have ended as of a few minutes ago. It was especially concerning because a community not far from here was hit by a tornado on Sunday (Ontario's strongest tornado - F3). Also, two years ago, August 18-19, 2009, was Ontario's worst tornado outbreak (19 tornados) and on that day a 12-year-old was killed by flying debris at one of our conservation areas.

I don't mind the storms, but I'm terrified of the wind and I'm beginning to not like living between all the lakes that turn these storms into supercells...

TTC I am glad that things are quieting down. I love a windy storms but if I had to deal with tornadoes or hurricanes I would probably think differently.
Well I am going to sign off for the night I have a headache that will not go away and maybe the Ibuprofen will work better if I quit staring at this screen. :p

Good luck with that. (Seriously, not sarcasticly). I only get headaches when I'm suffering caffeine withdrawl but my roommate suffers serious migraines. I can only imagine how bad that must be. I learned long ago, the only thing worse than having an ailment is watching someone else suffer from one. Have a good sleep.
