Recommendations needed.....

I have a Nikon D300s, three lenses, a speedlight and the usual paraphernalia that goes with all that. I bought a Lowepro Classified 200AW, and I am sorry to report that it is about the most useless, awkward and impractical camera bag I have ever owned, looks good though....

I like shoulder bags, although have been thinking a backpack might be a good idea. The Classified AW is really deep so you have to have everything stacked up, I find this extremely annoying.

Can anyone recommend a good, sturdy, practical bag that might suit my gear? I don't care what it looks like, I just want it to work!

There is no black & white; it's all 18% grey.

Do you like rollers? Or just looking for a shoulder bag?

I would rather be surfing!

Check Vanguard (sponsor link below). I have the Messenger 38 and carry 2 bodies, 3 lenses, tubes, filters, etc. and sometimes a laptop.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Vanguard is pretty nice (I have the same one as Baydream).

I'd personally go Think Tank (also a site sponsor, but that's not why I recommend it).

I'd go one of the (Think Tank) Streetwalker backpacks or the "sling-o-matic" if you want a combo backpack/shoulder bag.

These bags are EXTREMELY well made and are very well designed.

I own a bunch of their stuff. I'd highly recommend the Streetwalker Harddrive and the Retrospective series.

I have a Tamrac System 3 shoulder bag. It holds 2 camera bodies 3 lens, flash, cables, upper zip pocket holds all my filters, front zip pocket has 3 slots for memory cards & 3 slots for spare batteries along with a zip pocket & room for my camera manuel. It also has a back zip pocket. I have the Navy & black version... I like that the inner compartment walls are adjustable. Mine says that it is for one camera but I can easily fit two in it. Here is the link ...

I have a couple of these... I have them sorted by the camera use. guess I shoulda mentioned that when I first posted..Oops

If you want a backpack the Lowepro AW packs are convenient to use

I also have a Domke canvas bag and a Besseler AW bag that might fit your needs

Thank you very much everyone, lots of food for thought....
@David, what are 'rollers'?
I'm thinking a backpack is probably the most practical cos I tend to walk a lot with my camera....
