Camera straps

12 years 5 months ago #179066 by john_m
Well I'm tired of the D200 strap, it just isn't cutting the weight of the new lens and is just down right uncomfortable now. What is everyone else using when toting around heavy glass? I looked at the rapid straps (found them on amazon) but wasn't sure. They look like they connect to the tripod mount and I always keep my mount on......Any help is appreciated.

I use a QuickRelease strap over the shoulder. There are knock-offs that look and work just as well.

Do they connect to just one of the strap mounts on the body?

No, they connect to the tripod mount.

Thanks Gary, guess I'll just have to deal with removing it when I use the tripod.

The Cotton Carrier (one of our our sponsors) has a quick release unit that allows both the strap mount and a quick release unit.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

If you use an Arca-Swiss style quick release then you can keep an A-S clamp on the end of the BR strap, making it easy to switch between tripod and strap. Black Rapid have recently introduced the FastenR-T1 Tripod for use with the Manfrotto RC2 quick release system.

Those are just clips that go on the bottom of the camera that hold the straps
