- 9 Items Any Photographer Would Want in Their Camera Bag
As great as it would be to be a professional photographer and not have to worry about making money, that's just not the case for most of us.
That means that we must constantly be in search of new clients, find new gigs, and streamline our workflow to make the most of our time, all in the name of making more money.
It's that last point - streamlining your workflow - that I want to hit on in this article.
If you want to give yourself a more convenient shooting experience, and a more comfortable one, you need to invest in a Holdfast MoneyMaker.
Now, this is much more than just a play on words. When I say that the MoneyMaker is a legitimate money maker, I mean it.
I've been a fan of Holdfast's products for years and years, ever since I first met their team at Photo Plus awhile back.
I remember being floored at the quality of craftsmanship of their products, in particular, their MoneyMaker Camera strap.
I own a MoneyMaker and have for a few years now, so I understand precisely how this thing can help you make more money.
The MoneyMaker Makes Your Job Easier
For starters, the MoneyMaker simply makes your job easier.
As you can see in the photo above, the MoneyMaker hugs your body, keeping your cameras close to your torso in a safe position.
Not only that, having your cameras - up to three of them if you need - right there at your fingertips means you can grab the camera, raise it to your eye, and capture the shot you need without having to worry about digging through a camera bag or fighting with a tangle of shoulder straps.
It might seem like a small thing, but trust me when I say that having your cameras out and freely available to you will make your job a million times easier.
The MoneyMaker Lets You Work Hands-Free
Back in the day, I fancied myself a budding portrait photographer. I quickly realized that portraits weren't my strong suit.
Nevertheless, I remember fumbling through portrait shoots with my camera in my hand and the shoulder strap constantly getting in the way.
Not only that, but when I needed to swap out a lens or switch my camera altogether, it took valuable time away from the actual work of taking photos. See the MoneyMaker's different carrying options in the video below by Holdfast.
But with the MoneyMaker, you don't have to worry about any of that because you can work hands-free.
That's advantageous for portrait photography for the very reasons I noted above - you can have two or three cameras right there at the ready with different lenses for the types of shots you want.
Additionally, if you're a wedding photographer, having your hands free can be hugely beneficial as you try to direct people for a large group photo or try to navigate your way through a crowded reception.
The point is that having your hands free can be beneficial for a variety of reasons - directing a photo shoot, beckoning your second shooter, weaving your way through a crowd, heck, even catching yourself if you trip!
The MoneyMaker is the Most Comfortable Way to Carry Your Gear
Whether you like to spend your days hiking around, photographing beautiful landscapes or work as a wedding photographer, it's a hard job with long hours and a lot of wear and tear on your body.
I can tell you right now that having a MoneyMaker will ease the burden on all those long hours...
Since the MoneyMaker distributes the weight of your gear across your shoulders and back, it's simply a more comfortable carrying experience. That's even if you have extra weight attached to the MoneyMaker, like the Roamographer bag pictured above.
And let's face it - the more comfortable you are, the better you feel, the more engaged you are in your work, and the longer you can shoot.
The last time I checked, all of those are good things that will only help you tackle your job in a more efficient manner.
I might not be a portrait photographer, an event photographer or a wedding photographer, so I can't speak precisely to what those experiences are like.
But I know what it's like to be uncomfortable and I know what it's like to carry a bunch of gear around all day. I'm here to tell you that a MoneyMaker will change the way you work, and in the long run, help you make more money, too.
