Apple's New M1 Laptops Do Not Disappoint

A lot of photographers - myself included - use Macs as their primary computers. A lot of filmmakers do as well.
That's why it was so exciting to see the release of Apple's newest Macbook Pro (and Macbook Air and Mac Mini) with the new M1 chip from Apple's own silicon.
It's a huge shift for Apple, and the question when the move was announced was this: would the new Apple M1 chip be any good?
Well, as you can see in the video above from 9 to 5 Mac, first impressions are very good.
To say that the new Macbooks' performance is turning heads is an understatement.
In the video, the Macbook Air and Macbook Pro are given a good, long look.
And as the folks at 9 to 5 Mac note, the performance is excellent in addition to battery life being quite good as well. There is good application compatibility and prices that won't make you sweat, either.

For now, the M1 chip is only available in the aforementioned Mac Mini, Macbook Air (shown above), and Macbook Pro (13.3-inch model), though support for the chip is destined to find its way into Apple's larger laptops as well.
