New Sony NEX-F3 Interchange Lens System Camera Replaces NEX-C3 Model
-
A recent PhotographyTalk news report cited the increasing popularity of interchangeable lens system (ILS) cameras and Sony has firmly defended its turf with the announcement of a June 2012 release of the new NEX-F3 Mirrorless Digital Camera.
The new NEX-F3 is only slightly bigger than the older NEX-C3 it is replacing, but the new model weighs just 9 ounces without a battery or memory card. While the NEX-F3 has essentially the same size sensor as the NEX-C3, 16.1 megapixels versus 16.2, the newer camera has greater ISO sensitivity, to 16,000, and better video recording in AVCHD format. Video is 1080/60i or 24p Full-HD. The NEX-F3 also increases battery life to the equivalent of 470 images and features a 3-inch, tilting LCD display.
As with all its mirrorless models, the Sony NEX-F3 comes with the company’s E mount. Sony is also staking a larger claim to the ILS market with two new lenses planned for July 2012 release. These include an 18–135mm and 18–200mm zoom lenses.
The Sony NEX-F3 is available from B&H Photo Video as a pre-order, with an 18–55mm kit lens for $598.00 in black and silver, by clicking here.
