I mentioned my dog in a thread earlier, so I thought I'd share a couple of photos.

(This one isn't as high quality, just a phone snap)

Feel free to post your pet shots here, too :)

The first one is perfection, your DOF is wonderful. I also like the "phone snap" like most snap shots it is fun even though technically flawed.

Thanks! I got lucky with that one...she doesn't usually hold still in a pose like that for more than a split second. That was actually the day I got my 5D and was just playing around with it. But the dog wouldn't stop moving, until I finally opened the front door and waited until something caught her eye. That little moment of curious fixation was enough to finally get a well focused portrait.

On the phone shot, I took that right when we first brought the dog home. My wife is an absolute dog lover, so for our first Valentine's Day after we got married, I decided to get a dog. She was so happy that I just had to capture the moment as it happened :)

Wonderful memories. She looks like a ball of fire (the dog that is)

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

MJ's thread about her adorable new puppy reminded me of this one - mostly because Murphy's coloring reminded me of my dog. So I figured I'd post a new snapshot I took yesterday. :)

I had mentioned that I didn't have my camera with me the first time I took this dog for a hike. This time around, at least I had my P&S...

We lost our redhead, Chester, to cancer last week - part Chow, part Mutt - we all miss him dearly...

Thanks, everyone seems to say she's quite a looker. :)

She's a mutt, but I know she's part terrier (possibly Jack Russell terrier but not sure), part pit bull and some sort of hound.
