Is this an actual bird feeder and the chipmunk decide to help himself. Or are you feeding the chipmunk? I ask because I have bird feeders, but no matter what I do, squirrels and chipmunk love to eat the bird feed. They are cute to photograph, as you would know because that photo is too adorable, but they eat all the bird food.

Chipmonks and squirrels are very adept at raiding bird feeders. I figure these critters need to eat and Shanna capturing a great shot because they do. Beautiful shot, Shanna.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Awwww, thanks a bunch everyone! Dave, this is a feeder for whoever wants to show up-it's got a screw in the center of it and the big chunk of seed is actually a Woodpecker nut/seed block. I just screw it down onto the feeder and wait for the "guests" to arrive. All of the birds love it and of course the squirrels, chipmunks & deer love it. During the Busy months, they'll go through one of these in a day, and it always ends up disappearing too. Last year something MUCH larger showed up...... it snapped the small tree in half that the feeder was mounted on. I'm kinda guessing it might have been a bear, which is a LITTLE unsettling, up to this point I haven't seen one yet.

Thanks again, I really appreciate all of your comments- you are all so sweet!:)

Nice capture! I'm always amazed at how much the squirrels and chipmunks can eat. We've haven't found a feeder that's really squirrel proof. Love watching them figure out how to get the seed out.
