Finally A Little Snow

It has been a snow free mild winter here in east Tennessee .... Finally the weather turned cold (below freezing) and we got a little snow. Grabbed the gear and headed for Cades Cove, in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (my home field!)

The day turned out to be one of those that keeps you coming back as a wildlife / nature photographer!

Such great use of the weather. We had about 30 minutes of snow so nothing on the ground.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Great shots!! :judge: :judge:

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

Sometimes you take my breath away... Number 2 left me gasping - such a classic shot!

I love number 1 too. :judge: :judge: :judge: :judge: :judge:

That first photo is stunning. The only reason I have the slightest idea what a harrier is - www.ham.muohio.edu/athletics/history/index.htm .

Nice photos of Cades Cove, haven't been there in years and only in spring/summer, lovely shots of it in the snow.

Thanks Guys and Gals for the kind comments. As I said ... this trip turned out to be "one of those days" in a very good way!

Chas - Hard to express how much a comment such as yours means to me
Icepics - Since I can be in the "Cove" in about 30 minutes it truly is my "home field"
All that commented on the Harrier image - It is my favorite of the group ... So difficult to get a good sharp shot of these birds (for me anyway)
Robbie - I already had the same thought .... I have a couple that will make pretty good 2013 Christmas Cards
