Stop looking at my fish! Back OFF!!!

12 years 2 months ago #200479 by chasrich
I had been stalking this osprey while he was eating. I had gotten almost underneath his perch some sixty feet in the air. With a crop lens my 270mm sees like a 400mm+ lens. I decided to play with the 2x teleconverter. I got off only a few shots when this fellow got fed up with me intruding in on his feast. He dropped out of his tree straight at me in order to fly away. I apologize for the framing - under the circumstances it was the best that I could do.

You do get some exciting shots :judge:

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

Great shots! Ospreys have been re-introduced on lakes here in Georgia
and the man-made perches are on telephone poles near islands (only about 30 feet up).
Boaters are encouraged to stay back and most comply but the closest I am comfortable with
is about 100 feet from the base of the pole. I had never considered possible retaliation!
Thanks for the warning!
