How do I take pictures of the stars?

12 years 10 months ago #101227 by QZG Dan
I know long exposure does it....but I don't want the star trails. I want to be able to shoot the stars, as if it was taken with a quick shutter speed...but of course able to see everything I see. Does anyone know what I am talking about? If so, how do I do this?

I didn't watch the video Dave posted, so I hope I am not repeating but what you could do is take multiple exposures and layer them in photoshop.

Nice John. I gotta try this as soon as I get out in the country at night. :judge:

Well if I wanted one through a camera lens then I would piggy back it on my telescope. But as John showed High ISO works as well with fast glass. I may try an off the tripod shot with my 10.5 Fish at 3200ISO.
