Is this a good impulse buy? Caution: you might want one too... (not spamming here)

OK... I like little kits. I like buying things on impulse a lot. My marriage is not endangered in any way if I just get this. I could easily live without this but why would I do that... Tell me if this seems like a "too good to pass on" deal. Thanks.

Leave it to you to point that out. I had just finished writing my topic as a joke when I saw that referral notice on the page. OK - I admit it... I am a shameful spammer too.

The "camera stand" appears useless. But the lights are tempting at that price. Nearest light deal I found on Amazon was this -

2 non-flash lights with stands and reflectors

You can use ANY light. Desk lamps, window light, etc.

Phooey. I was disappointed when I saw that cheapo light kit. I was expecting a D3X and the lens trifecta, what would have been an impressive impulse purchase...........:P

Why so serious?

The impulse passed. It's well that it did. I have several of my impulse buys waiting for me to go play with them. I hate working on a big backlog... :woohoo:

When I visited IKEA last week, I came across this instant light tent for $10  You could even modify it by removing the blue material at the base and replacing it with a piece of plexiglass and translucent material. Then prop the whole thing on a framed structure of some kind (PVC?). That way you can aim another light from below.
