Groom sues photographer, demands new wedding ($48,000)

Are you kidding me? I just saw this on the FB page and can't believe what I'm reading here!

"In lawsuit filed six years after ceremony — and divorce — man demands $48,000 to recreate event for new pictures "

"Of all the many things that make up a wedding, few are more important than the photographs.

Long after the last of the cake has grown stale and the tossed bouquet has wilted, the photos endure, stirring memories and providing vivid proof that the day of one’s dreams took place.

So it is not particularly surprising that one groom, disappointed with his wedding photos, decided to sue. The photographers had missed the last dance and the bouquet toss, the groom, Todd J. Remis of Manhattan, said.

But what is striking, said the studio that took the pictures, is that Mr. Remis’s wedding took place in 2003 and he waited six years to sue. And not only has Mr. Remis demanded to be repaid the $4,100 cost of the photography, he also wants $48,000 to recreate the entire wedding and fly the principals to New York so the celebration can be re-shot by another photographer. "

The "groom" will probably lose. People sue all the time (in the U.S.) for all sorts of stupid reasons. Doesn't mean they win.

I doubt he will win since he decided to wait for 6 yrs to sue. I would think that there is a statute of limitations.

Any judge with brains would throw this out of court, this man is a con man, six years later and he is divorced, so is he wanting the recreation with the ex wife or is he wanting his latest fool conquest to be in the photos, either way this man should be made to pay said photographer $48000 dollars for the stress he will have caused, I like America but this story makes a mockery of the USA and its letigious system, which unfortunately has landed on our shores now. :nunu: :nunu: :nunu: :nunu: :nunu:

I just read another article and it states all but the 'breach of contract' suit has been thrown out. But waiting 6 yrs and AFTER a divorce? That's ridiculous.

Stuff like this makes you really double think about who you do business with. I can't believe this.

The importance of a "contract". Unless the contract specified those particular photos, this guy is toast - and should be counter-sued return for filing a frivolous lawsuit.
The sad part is there are morons on jury duty that make inane decisions (like my coffee was "too hot").

GUILTY! Hang em high... Charge for interest also and the divorce costs which were no doubt caused by the crappy wedding album.

Wheee - it's fun acting insane every now and then.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
