which browsers and their versions are best suited to view Photographytalk.com

Wanted to know which browser is best suited for viewing this website. Would be of great help. Also would like to know if anyone uses a particular browser and has problems.

I use google chrome and my main problem is when I go back to my profile page after viewing another member's photos, that members photos are displayed as mine.

As of now I just am posting this thread from IE9 just to check the compatibility.

I use safari and never run into any problems.

I use safari. No major problems. Any problems aren't likely to be browser related anyway.

I hope Alex and team do solve the issues asap. I have Safari installed in my laptop. Guess I should check out the site on that browser.

The issue you describe (getting someone else's photo at the bottom of your profile) is unlikely to be a browser issue.

I have noticed that if you visit this site from a "less than fast" computer then the excessive scripts make the site mostly un-viewable. But on a faster processor it is not an issue.

thanks for pointing this out.

But by faster processor do you mean processors above Pentium 4 which includes dual core processors? Or does the site work fine on a computer having pentium 4?

If this is not a browser issue, then good.

But one thing I noticed when I used IE9 for a change to start this thread. After I clicked submit, it did not show the published post, but instead showed the page where we type our opinion in the thread. Is that a computer processor issue too? because this issue I have never faced in Google chrome.

Also Alex has said that there are some bugs in the site and his team are looking into the matter. So we have to wait and watch. :)

Still the question remains: which browser do you feel is best suited for viewing photographytalk.com?

Your opinion on this would be appreciated. :)

I use IE9, Chrome and Firefox, all 3 browsing PT and honestly I don't see a difference, to say which one is best suited to view PT.

:agree: I use Chrome and Firefox and see no diff. Occasionally, I clear cache to keep things "oiled". You may want to try that for the logout issue. The profile problem is the only one I've encountered recently.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Originally I used IE8 and had a few glitches going on so I went to firefox and since then have had no problems, what I have noticed is that members are always commenting on little problems and blaming the server but as Scotty points out it usually isnt the server at all and probably more related to your computer, I believe its a personal choice on what is best and advise everyone to try several servers before settling on one favourite.

:agree: I was having issues when I used IE8, but when I upgraded to IE9, no issues at all.
