I always love these questions. My D300 is stuck in manual mode. I do not like the other modes because I think the camera over exposes in them. Now I know some say the you just use EC to compensate, but to me why not compensate with a flick of either, or both of the wheels. Besides I tried the EC once while using aperture mode and forgot. Then I went back to manual, and forgot to put the EC back to zero, so my exposures were all off. With Nikons the EC can be used to zero out your meter when shooting in manual mode. I just know that the middle is not where I want my exposure to be a majority of the time. Well at least with my D300, when it dies I will have to learn what a new body does.
