Studio in home?

I know people have photography studios in their home, but is it really professional? Instead of buying a storefront to use as a studio.

If the studio looks professional and it's a registered business, then why wouldn't it be professional?

:agree: But if your studio is a combo laundry room, storage are, studio, then you do have a problem.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

I'm guessing it is what it is depending on the space and budget they are working with?

That is true, but I would think a client would think a home studio is not as professional as a storefront studio. Basically because it's in one's home.

Its all about perception & how you present yourself & the studio. If everything is clean & professional, you should be good to go. Over time you'll build up a good reputation. You may try hanging some well-framed examples of your work to give a feeling that you've been at this for more than a weekend.

I've seen commercial work for television ads be done in someone's driveway.

True. Good idea about hanging some my work on the walls. Not only does it show off what I have done, but it may help clients want to buy that specific size print.
