Anyone ever try to jack your camera from you?

A good friend of the family just got back from Brazil today and was telling me that she had someone try to take her camera from her that was strapped around her neck. The crook didn't get the camera but he did apparently knocked her down in the process.

This had me thinking about all the times during traveling that I had my camera around my neck. Anyone ever had someone try to steal your camera from you?

Only one guy. He's dead now. That's what that old heavy Manfrotto monopod's for.

Just kidding.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

While in the military we had several ports we visited that had problems with "Hey Joes". I remember having a wrist watch band that made it difficult to remove the watch without releasing the clasp. I also remember not taking my camera ashore because of stories of muggings and theft. I had one friend thsat did take his camera and made it back safe and sound. He wired it to his waist.

Many years ago, following a late night of concert photography, a couple thugs were thinking of relieving me of my camera bag. They were persuaded to go elsewhere, and I still own all of that equipment, and am still alive. God bless the second amendment.....

Why so serious?

Nope, if they tried, they would be the one on the ground.
