What is the largest photography group? Is PPA a good outfit to be part of? I'm looking for something that is pretty decent in size that has yearly meetings or perks that come with being a member.

Nikon D300: 24-70 2.8 | 70-200 2.8 VR |Sigma 150 2.8 | 50 1.4 | SB-800

PPA is good. Mpix has a yearly meetup and from my understanding the meetup is very informative. Lasts all weekend long.

I know this wasn't directed towards me, but thanks, I would love to get together with a photography group in my area to learn more.

Not sure of the total numbers (it was 19K in 1976) but they are is 70 countries and Current well-known PSA members include: Andre Cabuche, John and Barbara Gerlach,
Darrell Gulin, George and Kathryn Lepp,
Frans Lanting, and Art Wolfe.
Ansel Adams was a member of PSA.

Safe to bet there is more than 19,000 members now! Is this one of the older groups?

I belong to PPA, not cheap but it has it's perks, I carry my photography equipment insurance through them. I enter the International photo competitions.Have gone to a couple of the conventions. The last one in San Antonio. You can get discounts for software , etc also. You can earn your Masters degree through them also.
